Why this matters

Every investment starts with a reason. But reasons are fragile. They get rewritten by hindsight, worn down by market noise, or quietly abandoned the moment a stock moves against you. When prices swing, emotion takes over fast. It's easy to forget the real reason you bought something in the first place, and just as easy to later convince yourself you always knew what would happen.

Thesis Tracker exists to protect that original reasoning. By writing down your thesis, your confidence, and what you expect to happen before the outcome is known, you build a record that can't be quietly rewritten later. Reviewing it honestly, again and again, is how real investors get sharper: not by being right every time, but by knowing exactly where their thinking held up and where it didn't.

Glossary

thesis creep noun

/ˈθiː.sɪs kriːp/

The gradual drift of an investor's original reasoning for owning a position, as circumstances change over time, until the reasons for holding it barely resemble the ones that justified buying it in the first place. Often driven by commitment bias: investors quietly adjust their story to fit the position rather than honestly reassessing whether the original thesis still holds.
